Transportation & Installation (T&I) Engineering

Transportation and installation engineering for jackets, topsides, modules, risers and conductors: load-out, transportation, launch or lift, upending, set-down and hook-up analysed as one sequence, with the method statements and calculation notes the marine warranty surveyor reviews. Delivered for ONGC riser and conductor installation campaigns and vessel-based installations in Nigeria.

Transportation & Installation (T&I) Engineering

What you receive

  • Installation sequence and method statement inputs for each marine operation
  • Transportation, launch, upending and lift analyses (MOSES / OrcaFlex / SACS)
  • Installation aids: bumpers, guides, lifting and sea-fastening steel, temporary supports
  • Barge and crane-vessel stability, mooring and positioning checks for each stage
  • Riser and conductor installation engineering: clamps, guides, running and stabbing procedures
  • MWS submission package and comment resolution to certificate of approval

One sequence, not separate calculations

T&I fails at the interfaces: a jacket designed for its in-place loads but not for the launch, a topside lifted with padeyes sized for a different crane, a riser clamp that meets the platform but not the installation vessel’s reach. We engineer the sequence end to end so every temporary condition is analysed with the same weight report and the same criteria, and the method statement matches the calculations the MWS approves.

Offshore installation campaigns we have supported

Riser installation across four platforms with sixteen lifts; a conductor installation campaign at Mumbai High with 120+ offshore supervision days; feasibility for more than thirty riser lifts; and a pipe-lay vessel upgrade for piggyback pipeline installation in Nigeria. Site supervision is delivered by our engineers offshore when the client wants the designer present.

Codes

DNV-ST-N001 (marine operations and marine warranty), ISO 19901-6, API RP 2A and ISO 19902 for the structures, client and MWS-specific procedures.

Frequently asked questions

Do you produce the method statements as well as the analyses?

We provide the engineering inputs and the calculation notes the method statement relies on; the installation contractor issues the method statement, and we support it through the MWS review.

Can your engineers attend the installation offshore?

Yes. Site supervision is one of our capabilities; our team logged 120+ offshore days on a conductor installation campaign at Mumbai High.
