Engineering scope
Hull and regasification-module structure, mooring (jetty, spread or turret), berthing analysis for the supplying LNG carriers, cryogenic and high-pressure gas piping, and the class and IGC Code route for the converted unit.
Glossary
A floating storage and regasification unit is a moored LNG carrier — purpose-built or converted — that stores liquefied natural gas and vaporises it on board for export to shore by pipeline. An FSRU lets a country import LNG in one to two years without building an onshore terminal, and can be redeployed when demand changes.
